Joanne PritchardJo is Physio Pilates Retford’s Principal Physiotherapist and Managing Director. She graduated from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen in 1999 with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy, and in 2007 also completed a Masters degree in Physiotherapy (Adult Neurology) at the University of Wales College of Medicine (Cardiff). After working for the NHS for 13 years, she moved to Retford in 2012.
Jo’s passion for Pilates started in 2008, and she quickly experienced the difference this discipline made to her own posture and body awareness; after her first class, Jo’s posture changed so much she had to change her car mirrors before driving home! She went on to become a fully certified APPI Pilates Instructor and lectured for the APPI across the UK for 7 years, training other health professionals to teach Pilates for rehabilitation, for Neurological conditions, and for Osteoporosis. Jo now has a small team of Physiotherapists offering Pilates, Neurological Physiotherapy, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, and Elderly Rehabilitation. She is very proud to have won several North Notts Business Awards; for “Excellence in Customer Service” (2014 & 2017), “Business : Community Partnership” (2016 & 2019), and Business Person of the Year (2019). She also won the North Notts Business Woman Award for Professional Services (2022), was a finalist for the British Medical Association Patient Information Awards (2021) and received a commendation from the national Multiple Sclerosis QuDoS Awards (2023). Outside of work, Jo loves running (she ran the London marathon in 2018!), swimming, walking, and spending time with her family (even though lots of this time is acting as a taxi service for her children!). |

Artistic Direction and Official Photographers
Di Fisher, The Photo DenBorn in Ragnall, Di was riding a motorbike at 6 years old which was just one of the many slightly 'left field' things that Di's dad taught her to do. He also taught her to be independent and to do her own thing. This early influence has had a marked effect on Di's career, which started off as an apprenticed upholsterer, then on to being an administrator and leading to 2 years living and working in Germany. On her return to the UK, Di ended up in Swindon and with a job in IT. From there she moved to Milton Keynes working for another major blue-chip company in IT, then later on, moving in to Facilities Management.
In 2001 Di finally called it a day on being an employee and followed her dream of being a photographer, earning an excellent reputation for PR and commercial photography. 2007 saw Di relocate back to North Notts to live with her childhood sweetheart. New location, new opportunity, so Di followed another dream, to enter the world of wildlife conservation. During this time, Di came across Totally Locally Retford and Retford Business Forum and became active with various campaigns. The networking bug had bitten, and when Di had finally defined a suitable niche for her experience and expertise, The Photo Den CIC was formally created in 2015 and has been her life ever since. Apart from her Photo Den mission and business, Di loves spending time with her Springer Spaniel Colin, supporting her partner Jeff with his unique motorbike design and build projects, and the occasional classic bike track day. |
